The Indigo is a comfortable, spacious, premium-features sedan with class-leading ride and handling characteristics in the midsize (C) segment. Tata Motors, India’s largest automobile manufacturer, unveiled the Tata Indigo Advent – a softroader, at the 74th Geneva Auto Show. The Indigo Advent is powered by an 85 ps (62 kW) gasoline and a 70 ps (52 kW) turbo-charged inter-cooled diesel engine. It rides on independent McPherson strut suspension at the front and 3-link, independent suspension at the rear, providing superior riding comfort and handling. High ground clearance provides a commanding driving position. The car’s aesthetic appeal is enhanced by trendy and contemporary styling cues. The different models of the Indigo are: the Petrol GLX, the Petrol GLS, the Petrol GLE, the Diesel LX and the Diesel LS.

The Indigo is built on a steel monocoque frame that has passed European standards of full frontal and offset frontal crash tests as well as endurance safety tests. It has also been fitted with a fire-preventing inertia switch, which minimises fuel leakage during an accident. Other safety features include rear safety belts, collapsible steering wheel, side-impact beams and crumple zones.
